Background
Legacy Glass & Mirror was founded in Austin by two Texan brothers who inherited their craft from their father. The company’s name pays homage to this fact. Being a glazier was in their blood, and up until now, they’d been successful despite the lack of a fully realized brand. It was time for a more clear-cut identity, made up of a logo and several print assets, such as business cards, vehicle decals, employee uniforms, along with brand guidelines.
I started by presenting three mood boards to gauge their taste preferences. We moved forward with the set containing logo examples that effectively read as Bold, Classic, and Utilitarian. Based on this feedback, I built out three distinct directions. They instantly gravitated to the logotype with the most industrial tone and after some light revisions we landed on something exciting. The result was a hand-lettered mark, with a patriotic spirit and a hint of old-school, blue collar grit.
